The Longest Journey

“… a mother’s journey [is] a ‘letting go’ process. But in a sense, she never really let’s go, and can never quite return to the woman she was. Once she opens herself to her child, something within her stays open. She has changed profoundly and for her whole life.”

What Mothers Do is a great read for all mothers and fathers… A friend recommended it to me and although initially it seems a little depressing (hard to hear the facts perhaps?), it’s all very true.

Oh gosh, I’m trying to remember the early chapters now… I don’t remember it seeming depressing. I think I just felt relieved to know that what I was (and wasn’t) doing had such worth in the long run. But, yes – definitely a great read for new parents!
      Thanks for visiting my blog!
